Preseason Schedule is one of the most important period for the next season. During a season all players are about to exhaust and they need a recover for a period. If you challange in Euro Cups, league and local cup competitions you will notice this need more deeply.
You may think what you can lose if you dont pay attention to preschedule. I can say you can lose at least one or two important players with a long period-injuries. So, I think you understand better... :)
Let's be serious, what you should take into account while preparing a preseason schedule ? These are all totally my own tactics, understanding and you do not have to take care of this post. My team, Tottenham Hotspur, is a team running like crazies so they should -not should- must be athletic, stronge and fast. So durign preseason schedule, I give up ball near the field and order my Fitness coach to kill all players :):)
As you can see from the screenshot, majority of the schedule is aerobics and strenght works.
But I recommend you to apply this schedule just one month. As you all know, after all league and cups, players go on a holiday. When they come back, I load them with aerobics and strength for a month. At the start of the september around, I turned my season schedule...
