In my last post I wrote about my next season plans and transfer targets. After a short holiday, me and my scouts were on the ways. I first knocked Sevilla's door for Federico Fazio.
Fazio would be a really good transfer. Sevilla asked me 7 M€ and I was ready to splash the bank cheque but there was one problem! Fazio had no intention to leave Sevilla. He even did not seat the table for a negotiation. It was a bad start at transfer market but I never give up. This time I shifted to route to Portugual to visit Porto for Nicolas Otamendi.
I paid 15 M€ at the same time Real Madrid but the result was the same with the Fazio.. I am really unlucky with this Argentinan defenders.. But at this case, Otamendi was right. If I were Otamendi, I would do the same and choose Real Madrid.
I stopped looking for a defender for a while and went to Germany for Ter Stegen. According to my scout reports' this young goalkeeper is one of the best young goalie who is reported as "definite purchase"
Gladbach management did not sell him to me although I even offered 25 M €... It was really an expensive transfer but they did not accept.. Ok they know.. I did my best. Ter Stegen is now unhappy and I will keep following him.. Next season I will try my chance again, maybe in the second half of this season.
Another goalie candidate was Maxym Koval from Russia but as a summary, it was also another failure story. I think I should be more focusing on increasing the popularity of the club.. Any of my transfer targets did not show any intention to come to the Hawthorns.. Indeed, I have a good chance to increase the popularity and reputancy of the club by showing at UEFA.
My another transfer target was also again from Germany.
This regen, Alexander Simon, is a "whatever the price" guy and he is just 16 but what a strange that he has no intention to leave the club...
As a summary, things are not going well and I started to be a bit pessimistic about my transfers.Another failure trials were Mehmet Ekici for AMC position, David Vidorreta for DC, Jose Sosa for AML. Sosa was one of my favourite players at FM 11 with Napoli.
While I am trying to cope with these failures, another shock came from the inside: Jonas Olsson wanted to see me.. You know what it means.. Once again, he wants to leave.
We made a meeting and this time I told him that I would let him go... desperately... While I was trying to strengthen my squad, I am about to lost one of the best player at the club.. Ok, I respect his decision to move to a bigger club...
