Hello Dear FMAddicteds,
Lets continue on our Southampton story. In my previous post, I wrote about the player transfers and now it is time to see them in action.
To be honest, I had some concerns about the team harmony because of the newcomers but for the first of the first season, it would be unfair to my team if I say there is problem in squad harmony.
Now lets take a look at to fixture of the first half of the season
The first half of the season was very interesting for Soton. Besides, there are some special matches and special players.
Our fans welcomed me and my new players at St. Mary's stadium with the match against Liverpool. This was my first serious exam at Southampton seat. I would like to thank to the fans with a win but we could take only a draw. Gaston Ramirez saved us from a defeat at the latest minute of the game. Start with one point is not a bad start. Our second game was against Hot Spurs, and although we played very well, we lost 3-2 against Tottenham. This was our first defeat but not the last one. Because our fans watched the same movie one week later, this time against Newcastle United. We could take our first win at our fourth match against West Ham United with the goal of our newcomer star Jay Rodriguez.

I would like to mention Gaston Ramirez at this point. Because Gaston is very special player. He never avoids taking responsibility whenever we need him. When you look at the fixture, you will see Gaston scored at last minutes, even at the additions, 3 times.
Maybe the most special moment of the first half of the season was the win against Manchester United at St. Mary's Stadium and the man of the moment at this special match was my tireless tenacious midfielder Schneiderlin. His goal at 90+3. minutes was the goal taking the glory to Southampton.
Now lets take a look at the highlights of this two tremendous matches.

After this short overview, we found ourselves at third place. I am sure that this is totally upsetting the odds. Anyhow, I do not think that we can go till the end with this performance but we will do our best. The board are very happy with the successes and everyone at the club started dreaming.
