WestBrom Story- Starting Weeks of Season 1 ~ FM Addicted

Hello FMAddicteds,

After a good preparation during the preseason with a tough friendly matches, now we are ready to rock. For this season, our biggest dream is keeping a place to go to UEFA... Most probably, we will focus on FA Cup matches more than other matches. Because I am sure that the big and strong team will focus on league for Champions League so I should use this opportunity.

My first match was against QPR and indeed I am really nervous for this match. This was the first show of me at the venue and I wanna start with a win. This would bring me a confidence.

Indeed we have started really good. My players was trying to show me what they have and why I let them be in first 11.

My defence star Jonas Olsson take the lead and this is the first formal goal with my Westbrom career. While we are attacking for the second one, we found what we look for. This time it is show time for Peter Odemwingie, my best striker in the team. I have a high confidence for Peter. He has brillant days in WestBrom.

I was so happy and I have told my happiness at my first half team talking and warned them against conceeding. But what happened I do not know, the reaction that I have seen on the field was just a dissappointment. QPR found a goal with Jay Bothroyd but still we were the winner until the 90+1... That minute was the indicator that I have lost my fisrt 2 points. Akos Buzsakv stole my win at the stoppage time..

My team talk ofcourse changed after the maatch. I was prepared to congratulate my lads but it ended with disappointment.

This is the first match and this is not the end but I can’t stand last minute goals.. This is really annoying.

But still there is a long way to go and we have started working hard again.The next match is against Newcastle and it will not be easy for us but we need a win and a win against Newcastle will be very refreshing for us.

We welcomed Newcastle at The Hawthorns and it was just a battling midfield match and finally we were the side laughing at the end of the match. This is so important for us. It was the first match at our home and in front of our fans. There was a high expectation before the match and The Baggies fans made full the stadium. There was no empty seat and it was a long time not to see such a crowded fan at The Hawthorns.

I think we will start a real revolution here in 5 years.

When you look at the statistics, you see that Newcastle was the better side but this is football and this is why football is so excited, even if you are worse than other team, you can win 3 points. Today it was one of them.

Let me tell you my first impressions about Westbrom. We play with attacking strategy and as a consequence of this approach, we will see so many goals at our nets so I should concentrate on defensive line but for time being, it is so difficult. Westbrom does not have an attractive showcase like UEFA or Champions Cup. So next year we definitely must go to UEFA. We will do everything for this purpose.

League Cup

I would like to write a long post about my league cup story but what a pity it is pretty short because I lost at the first match

We have started match very fast and we have found the leading goal at first half but at second half we could not protect the lead and we have conceded one goal. As a result, match ended 1-1 and went to penalty shoot outs. We have lost at penalties and we were elected at the League Cup 2nd Round.

To be honest, I was expecting an easy win against Bristol city and I have seen an unexpected result. I am trying to see an optimistic side: we will focus on league and FA cup more.

First 10 Matches and League Table

After the first 10 matches we are in the middle of the table and I am not to far away from the position to guarantee the UEFA. We are at 8th position with 4 wins, 3 lost and 3 drawns. There is a point taking my attention. Goal for is 20, goal against is 21. This result also show me importance of the power of the defensive line.

There are two matches at the ups and downs. One of them my magnificient win against Wigan with 5-2 at Wigan’s home and other is my frustrating heavy defeat against Tottenham with 7-4 (I have also lost 4-1 against Man Utd but this is not so surprise for me.)

Now lets see the higlights of these matches.

First one is my win against Wigan... See the dance of Peter Odemwingie after the first goal.. I like these new improved video features :)

Another one is my defeat.. uehmm defeat is not enough... my heavy defeat against Tottenham..We wanna forget this match as soon as possible but I will make this video watch my players to remind them what happens if the control of the game lost :)
