Hello FMAddicteds,
Yesterday, I explained my transfer targets and now it is time to show the actual results. First of all, I should confess that I diverged a bit from my targets but I can summarize the new transfers as radical changes.
Starting from this season, we will play with more attacking mentality but this time we will keep the back safe with the newcomers.
Another tip for the next season is change in the tactics. I will change the tactic from 4-2-3-1 to 4-2-2 winger- 2 strikers. I will make this tactic my starting tactics but ofcourse we will be getting prepared to play with 4-2-3-1 and 4-5-1 (defensive)
Now lets take a look at the new transfers in
My first free transfer is one of the best goalie in FM 12, David Ospina. Last season, his team did not sell David to me even if I offered 20 M € (it was just a trying, I did not have so much money :))
After I guarentee the secure of the goal, now it is time to make some additions to other fields. My next transfer bomb is Jan Vertonghen. He was also one of my transfer targets. So I am happy that I could achieve adding him to squad. I am pretty sure that Vertonghen and Burdisso will be solid wall at the defence. I paid €10.5M for him and I guarenteed "most earner in the team" with his contract. Nobody is paid € 3M per annum.
He is a top quality defender and this year I have more hope for the next season. I have one of the best goalies and defenders in the team.
The Hawthorns wellcome this two important transfers but they are not only ones who were wellcomed at The Hawthorns. Another important signing was Vedran Corluka.. I do not know but suddenly Vedran Corluka found himself at transfer list and I did not want to miss this opportunity. I paid only € 3.7M for Vedran and I am so happy that I could have his service to such a reasonable cost.
Hugo Mallo was my right back but now with Corluka's arrival, the rivalry will increase and we will benefit from this race. Besides Corluka, I also added a young hot prospect to the team: Tim Lajendik. He is just 18 and he has a brillant future at the Hawthorns and he is a free transfer.
His physical attributes are pretty good and I will ask Corluka to mentor Tim. While talking about young prospects, I am happy to inform you that this season I achieved another target at transfer: Alexander Simon. Last year I have knocked the door for his transfer but he had no intention to join the Baggies. I think Euro Cup was a good reason to join us.
Simon is just 17 and I think he will be one of the first wonderkids in the team if I can train him right.
I can not stop myself when i find a good and free transfer even if I do not need a player at this position. Christian is a good example for this. I have two left back but when I find Christian, I decided to offer him a contract. At worst, next season I can sell him to a reasonable fee. We are not a rich team and we should create our own resources.. So trading is a good way to make money.
Look at his attributes. He is too good to be free and as you see, now his value is €3.4 M ;) Another free transfer is John Fleck, left footed AMC. He is a quality player and also young one.
He will be a good substitute for Graham Dorrans at AMC and AML for Adam Johnson. His value is €4.1 M now.
Another cheap and free transfers are Leonardo Sigali, Belchior, Jonatan Bauman from Argentina. They do not have work permit at England so I will loan them to Cherno More, my Bulgarian feeder club until they have gain citizenship. After that maybe I will sell them... As a summary, they are cheap investments for the future ;)
For AMR, I found a really quality key player potantial winger from Italy. He is one of my wonderkid candidates: Lee Ballard. I paid €2.7M for him to Juventus and to be honest, I am really lucky I could steal him from Juventus. I think it would be impossible to buy this hot talent from a lower profile club.
My scouts reported that Lee Ballard is a definite purchase. Next season, I would like to see Ballard at action.
Now get ready for the last but not the least... The biggest transfer story from WestBromwich Albion.. He is Jordan Ajew. His brother came to Arsenal last year and this season I decided to splash money to this wonderful striker.
He has increadible physical attributes and I am sure that next season, opponent defenders will be in a big trouble with Jordan Ajew. I spent $12M for Ajew but i have no question about his quality and I know that he will show his value to the fans without any doubt.
Jordan Ajew will be the main reason for changing my team formation and this summer I will see if it works at friendly matches. Shane Long and Jordan Ajew will be the killer strikers.
Until now, we have spent €32 M but I am sure that will wort to every penny.
As you see I splashed the bank cheques and this season, I have really good hopes. Spending high amounts apart, I am really happy with the free transfers. Because if I tried to buy these free transfers, I would need a double transfer budget.
Next season, if we can not be at first 5 on the table, I will not accept us as successful.
Tomorrow I will write about "Transfer Outs" It is not possible to spend so much money without selling anybody. I had to sell some of my players, a bit for money but more for my new tactical strategy.
Keep following..
