FM 13- Newcastle United Story Begins ~ FM Addicted

Hello FM Addicteds,

I am back again with my footbal manager career story.. This time, I have chosen Newcastle United to manage. To be honest, i could not make an easy choice to manage. First of all, I have started with Atletico Madrid. Everyone has some reflexive attitudes. Playing with Atletico is one of them in my FM careers. I start with Atletico at each version of this game. Anyhow, I changed my decision and started up Newcastle United. Why Newcastle ?

First of all, they have a big stadium (52405 all seater capacity). Football is all about entertainment and I will be happy when i do not see any empty seat at the stadium. This will be one of the aims. A full stadium brings a strong finance togather ;)

Now lets take a look at the general overview of the team.

Squad Depth

The first thing that should be pointed is the weakness of the right back.Besides, the squad depth is not enough, especially when Europe Cup matches, FA Cup and league matches are taken into consideration.

Total transfer budget is approximately 9 M€. It is not enough to acquire high calibre players. So i will make an evaluation for the squad and the tactic in my head. I can let some players leave if they do not meet my tactical understanding.

Tactical Approach

Football is all about entertainment and fans wanna see goals and nice moves at the pitch. So I like playing with attacking style. The most important players in my tactic is my wingers (AML, AMR). Another important point is the supporting AMC role. That role should deploy all balls to the dangerous areas and find goals as soon as possible.

Two strong midfielder is also vital to carry this tactic to success. One of them is attacking role, other one is defending role. Anchor man role is also acceptable.

The backs in my plans should be fast attacking full backs. Carrying the ball from back to forward as fast as possible is very important.

When i take a look at my squad, right backs (Danny Simpson, James Perch) are a bit far away from my expectations. My left back, Davide Santon, is one of the wonderkid candidates at FM 11 and FM 12. So i am lucky that i have him in my squad. I will use him for my attacks coming from the back.

Cabaye and Tiote are quality midfielders and i want to keep them in the squad for time being. Ben Arfa and Demba Ba are my best wingers and I am really lucky seeing them in the squad.

Papiss Cisse is an excellent striker with finishing 20 and above the average physical attributes.

Now lets take a general overview to the squad

Goal Keepers

As it is seen as above, I have a quality goalie, Tim Krul but I need a good substitute. Maybe it will not be possible this year, to find a good and young goalie but with the new coming year, I will be on the markets.

Defenders

Coloccini, my captain, is the best defender in the squad. Davide Santon is high quality player and I have really big expectations from him. Vurnan Anita is a multi disciplined player. He can play at both backs and midfield. I will try to use him with his best.

Midfielders

As mention above, Vurnan Anita can play at midfield to and he has a brilliant potential. Another potential player is Haris Vuckic and I will be using him at AMC position. Hatem Ben Arfa will play at right wing, Demba Ba will play at left wing. Cabaye and Tiote will be natural midfielders.
