Hello Dear FMAddicteds,
Days are going very fast at St. Mary's. While we are working on staff transfers, we are also at the player market. I have some really interesting and surprising news for Soton fans.
Transfers In & Out
As you see, there is one very interesting transfer in the list: Wellington Nem.
Yes, this is totally true and now Southampton fans are singing songs now. It was very unexpected news. One day on summer, Nem's agent told me that Wellington Nem can be availabel for 4.4 million Euro. At first, I did not believe this. Because, as you know very well, Wellington Nem is one of the known wonderkids of the game and if i could take him to St. Mary's, it would be perfect so i decided to take this opportunity and knocked at the Fluminense's door.
As you see, he has brilliant attributes and he will be a star at premier league if i can succeed to take him to St. Mary's. I offered 5 million Euro although he is more than 10 M €. The answer was really shocking : they have accepted my offer. I offered a contract to Wellington and then immediately i started to look for money. because, I have bought 5 new players before Wellington and the bank was totally empty. I have talked to board to increase the transfer budget but was refused. I again asked wage budget to be increased but it was also refused. Then i decided to sell a few reserve player. But what a pity i could not sell anyone and the payment day came before i found a resource. I asked a delay for one week and during this 1 week I have loaned some of my players and thus i could find some money from the wages that belongs to players who i loaned out. The total budget was 3.8 M €, still 1.2 M € was missing. In my second delay request, it was rejected.
Now lets take a look at my other transfers:
Leonard Kweuke:
Although we do not need to a striker, I found Leonard at Sparta Prague and I admired his physical attributes. My scouts also supported me with his potential ability. Besides, his minimum fee was only € 3.7 M so i did not want to miss this chance.. I thought that if i can take him to team, I can sell him in next years easily and he will be a really good investment. So i did not think much and decided to buy him.
Marco Torsiglieri
Marco is my first "to the point" transfer at Southampton. I needed a rock solid one at the heart of the defense. He is very strong defense and I am sure that he will a massive boost at my defense. Center back is one of the point that i should reinforce and with this transfer I am a bit confident about my defense.
Asier Del Horno
Another "to the point" transfer was to my left back. Asier was a free transfer. Although he is a naughty player , I can benefit from his aggressive side at the pitch. I offered him a regular contract.
Jonathan Parr
Jonathan is a player who is an investment for the coming years. I paid him only € 500 K plus Steve De Ridder. Steve is a MR / AMR player but because of i have more than one option at right wing, I decided to send his as exchange.
Marco Benassi
Marco Benassi is a good substitute for the midfield. I would like to transfer him but Inter did not accept this. So i decided to loan him and watch closer. If he is really talented and fit my team, I will try to transfer him.
